Our latest project, The Al-Ajar Orphans Project, is allowing us to work closely with Orphanages in Pakistan and now Morocco to help give orphans a great start in life.
We're working directly with Orphans, which is allowing us to keep our Admin/Overhead cost to a minimum.
We're also a non-for-profit organisation and all our staff are volunteers ensuring 100% of your donation goes to what you donate.
What your Contribution is doing
Every child deserves to be happy and have a healthy childhood and the opportunity to build a brighter future. For many of the 140 million orphans worldwide, this is simply not possible and they are trapped in poverty.
You can give a vulnerable orphan the chance to break out of poverty for just 50p a day.
Your sponsorship helps provide nutritious warm meals, clothes, healthcare and education.
The orphans project aims to foster and sponsor on a full time basis and not just put them into an orphanage where they may feel alienated, rather, we put them into a home with a loving family where they are provided with food, medicine, clothing and fundamental education, allowing them the best start in life.
PAKISTAN ORPHANS PROJECT
All children deserve a safe, healthy upbringing, however millions of young people worldwide are orphaned, living in poverty and deprived of much-needed educational support. These children are incredibly vulnerable and face a bleak future.
We believe every child deserves a good start in life, so we also build safe villages for them with clean water, healthcare and education, take them out of dangerous child labour and ensure they are safe and protected.
Each day millions of children across the world face formidable struggles, whether it’s through wars, disasters, drought or disease – and all too often become orphaned as a result. For many orphans, the threat of poverty is constant. Where will the next meal come from? Where are we going to live? If we get sick and can’t afford medicine…will we survive?
And if they make it through childhood facing hunger, poverty and insecurity, they have little hope for a better life. Without an education and the tools to support themselves, there is small chance of a brighter future ahead.
From the Hifz graduates of 2017. AlAjar had 11 girls and 5 boys who completed their Hifz of the entire Qur’an. Some of the kids are as young as 12 years old. The younger ones will stay at the School and revise whilst the older ones will move on to further education/training whilst staying on AlAjars sponsorship programme In’sha’allah
Alhamdulillah - one of our sponsored orphans; Aman Suhail is now teaching the younger group alongside studying and completing his Hifz studies.
Ramadhan 2018 - 250 students at this site of which 120 are sponsored AlAjar orphan children. May Allah bless
Ma’sha’Allah the students also study via e-learning in the new computer room. The English is picking up
Sponsor an orphan
Indeed, being kind to and looking after an orphan is a great act of generosity encouraged by the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said:“I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this,” putting his index and middle fingers together. [Bukhari]Our sponsorship programme doesn’t just take care of a child’s physical wellbeing. We believe a child deserves to be safe and happy too. Therefore, your sponsorship will mean the child you support will receive Education at one of the best local Schools and receive Eid gifts and incentives for progress in Education. A social worker will visit regularly to ensure the home is safe and loving. In other words, when you sponsor an orphan, you’re not just giving a gift – you’re giving the gift of childhood and a chance for a better, brighter future.
For £18 a month, you can sponsor one orphan. This covers all food, medicine and clothing needs.
For £36 a month, you can sponsor two orphans. This covers all food, medicine and clothing needs.

MOROCCO ABANDONED BABIES ORPHANAGE
The Hospital of Hope
This project started in 2017 on the back of our charity challenge to trek Mount Toubkal.
It is now entirely youth led by our brilliant students from the Saturday School (Halifax)
Al-Ajar Charity are working with a humble abandoned babies hospital called ‘The Hospital of Hope’. We help to provide for babies that have been left at the hospital by parents who are unable to look after the child as they are diagnosed with a complex disability, in some cases this is because they are unable to afford the costs of raising a child.
This is the saddening truth about children who are in these less fortunate parts of the world. We have been a promising donor to this hospital for a while and we are looking to expand it and enlarge its capacity.
Babies who are likely to never get to know their parents and will never have the same opportunity in life due to the complex disabilities that they face will rely on the donations from generous communities.
The youth group raise a target amount of donations to provide basic necessities and educational materials, along with other needs. We have pledged to donate a number of specialised beds for the disabled children and the cost price for these beds are £200 per bed as they are tailored for each baby. We also cover any costs of gifts that are given to the abandoned babies i.e. sensory toys, diapers, baby milk and clothes.
